PGA Tour Golf Players Ready to Tee Up at 24 Genesis Invitational Signature Event

The Genesis brand (from now on Genesis) sponsors the PGA (Professional Golfers’ Association of America) tour tournament 2024 Genesis Invitational as the title sponsor. The tournament will be held at The Riviera Country Club in California, USA, from February 15th (Thursday) to 18th (Sunday) local time.

This year’s tournament has been elevated to a Signature Event selected by the PGA tour, so 72 players who have secured their participation rights will compete fiercely.

A Signature Event refers to eight tournaments newly designated in 2024 out of 39 PGA tour tournaments. Only a few players participate, and the total prize money and FedEx Cup points are significantly higher than regular tournaments.

The 2024 Genesis Invitational will include 18 out of the top 20 players in the world rankings, including world ranking number one Scottie Scheffler, second-ranked Rory McIlroy, fourth-ranked Viktor Hovland, and fifth-ranked Xander Schauffele. Tournament host Tiger Woods will also participate as a player, playing his first match of the 2024 season.

Korean players, including Byeong Hun An, who finished fourth in The Sentry, the first Signature Event of the season, and Ju Hyung Kim, Sung Jae Im, and Si Woo Kim, have thrown down the gauntlet.

The total prize for this tournament is $20 million, with the winner’s prize being $4 million. In addition to the prize money, the winner will also receive a Genesis GV80 Coupe model.

Following last year, the 2024 Genesis Invitational has again offered hole-in-one prizes on two holes for player-caddie combinations.

In each round, the first player to achieve a hole-in-one on the 14th hole and their caddie will each receive a GV80 and GV70 electric model as a prize. If a hole-in-one is recorded first on the 16th hole, the player will receive a GV70, and the caddie will receive a GV60.

In addition, Genesis plans to spare no effort in caring for and supporting players and caddies during the tournament, including operating a Players & Caddies lounge equipped with a barber shop and conditioning supplies.

Genesis will support 220 vehicles, including the GV60, GV70 electric models, and GV80, to assist with the players’ safe movement and the tournament’s operation during the tournament period.

A total of 18 vehicles, including the GV80 Coupe model, which debuted in the American market at last year’s LA Auto Show, as well as the full Genesis lineup, the Genesis X Convertible Concept, and the Genesis X Gran Berlinetta Concept, will be displayed at key locations in the stadium such as the Genesis Skybox and Genesis 14th Hole Public Lounge to showcase their excellent product quality to gallery visitors and TV viewers across the United States.

Min Kyu Son, Vice President of Genesis Business, said, “Our goal is to allow the top-tier players with the best skills to showcase their abilities on the stage where they compete fully. We will strive to provide a differentiated experience unique to Genesis, not only to players and caddies but also to all gallery members.”

Meanwhile, Genesis will donate $300,000, $100,000 each, to three local youth sports organizations during the Genesis Invitational, contributing to youth education and community support development.

Since 2017, Genesis has been sponsoring the Genesis Invitational and expanding its brand experience by supporting the development of men’s professional golf through various golf sponsorships.

Genesis plans to sponsor the 2024 Genesis Scottish Open and 2024 Genesis Championship scheduled for July and October as their title sponsor and will support Genesis vehicles for the 2024 Presidents Cup and 2024 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship.
