Ineos SUV, Grenadier has been spotted on the road in South Korea
What is the future release schedule?
Ineos Grenadier is a mid-size SUV introduced in 2021 by Ineos Automotive, a subsidiary of British company Ineos. There is a famous anecdote in which Chairman Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a Land Rover Defender enthusiast, asked Land Rover to create a new Defender but was rejected, so he made his own company.
The Grenadier’s overall design is angular, similar to the Land Rover Defender, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, and Ford Bronco. Ineos Automotive was officially introduced in South Korea at the Seoul Mobility Show on March 31, 2023, and has entered into a pre-contract since February of this year. However, a Grenadier has recently been captured driving on the road in Seoul, making it a hot topic.

Recently, an online community posted a photo of Ineos Grenadier driving on the road. Although it has often been seen on display in dealer stores, this is the first time it has been seen on the street with a license plate. The Grenadier in the photo is wearing a temporary 4-digit license plate for testing purposes and has dark blue paint applied.
The Grenadier’s angular and large body, similar to the Defender, boasts a presence that sets it apart from other cars at a glance. There is also a QR code on the side of the vehicle to promote the website, and it is presumed to be a display car operated in dealer stores for purposes such as test driving.

Grenadier has also been spotted in Daegwallyeong, Gangwon-do, South Korea. Unlike the photo above, it is captured closer and can be examined in detail, and the high body and snorkeling equipment for intense off-road driving catch the eye.
The car’s rear also shares many features with the Defender, which inspired it. It has a ladder to climb the roof, a spare tire, and a multi-purpose roof rack.

Ineos Grenadier can be seen in person at the Seongsu showroom in Seoul. The official importer, Chabot Motors, South Korea’s official importer, began the official contract for the Grenadier on February 8 and revealed the price. Prices in South Korea start at 109.9 million won (about $82,613).
