Lucid Air vs. Porsche Taycan in Google Search Popularity

Based on Google search data, the most popular luxury electric vehicles include the Porsche Taycan and Mercedes-Benz EQS.

Recently, many luxury car manufacturers, such as Porsche, Lamborghini, and Ferrari, have been launching electric vehicles one after another, filling the market with electric cars boasting luxurious designs and superior performance. Some are receiving exceptionally high attention.

An analysis of the most searched electric cars of luxury brands based on Google search data revealed that Lucid Air took the top spot in search volume. In addition to this model, the Porsche Taycan, Tesla Model S, and others are attracting much consumer interest.

Search Volume 1st: Lucid Air. Search Volume 2nd: Porsche Taycan

The 2024 Lucid Air has been chosen as the most popular luxury electric car, with 882,000 searches. Lucid Air’s top ranking can be attributed to its luxury brand status and competitive pricing compared to other electric car brands. The Air Pure RWD trim starts at around $80,000 and offers a maximum range of 660 kilometers (410 miles). It can also be charged to provide a range of 321 kilometers (200 miles) in approximately 17 minutes.

The 2024 Porsche Taycan is hot on the heels of the Lucid Air, with 810,000 searches. It launched in 2019 and is a long-standing luxury electric car market player. The base model starts at about $114,000, and the Turbo GT model is sold at about $263,000. The Taycan can reach a top speed of 230 km/h (143 mph) and be charged at a maximum speed of 270 kW at public fast chargers and 19.2 kW at home.

Search Volume 3rd: Tesla Model S. Search Volume 4th: Mercedes-Benz EQS

The 2024 Tesla Model S, one of the best-known electric cars in the industry, ranked third with 654,000 searches. The Model S is priced similarly to the Lucid, at around $97,000, and offers a range of 646 kilometers (401 miles). The Model S Plaid can be charged at a maximum speed of 250 kW using a V3 Supercharger.

Although it has been some time since its launch, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz EQS still attracts consumers, with 353,000 searches. The EQS is available in sedan and SUV models with various trim options and can be purchased for about $120,000. It is well-known for its high interior quality, offering quilted seats and dynamic lighting to provide a genuine luxury driving experience.

Search Volume 5th: Porsche Taycan ST. Search Volume 6th: Rolls-Royce Specter

The 2024 Porsche Taycan Sport Turismo ranked fifth with approximately 70,000 searches. This model is known for its sporty handling, starting at around $162,000. The EPA-estimated range is 346 kilometers, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in about 3.5 seconds. It also boasts a remarkable charging speed from 25% to 80% in about 5 minutes.

The 2024 Rolls-Royce Specter attracted approximately 68,000 searches. The Specter starts at around $485,000, and its official range is 430 kilometers (267 miles), although Specter owners claim the actual range exceeds the official one. Luxury electric cars with high search volumes included the Rimac Nevera, 2024 GMC Hummer EV, and Cadillac Celestiq.
