Hybrid vehicles are making their presence known by replacing electric cars. According to the Korean Automobile Mobility Industry Association on the 24th, in the domestic eco-friendly car market in the first quarter of this year, the sales of hybrid vehicles recorded 111,766 units, an increase of 39.6% over the same period last year (80,063 units).
On the other hand, the exports of electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid cars, and hydrogen electric vehicles declined in the first quarter of this year. However, only the export of hybrid vehicles showed a growth trend with a 5.8% increase. As a result, the export rate of this type of vehicle has surpassed that of electric cars. Amidst this, three types of hybrid sedans are gaining popularity in 2024.

2024 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
Equipped with Hyundai’s New Family Look
Hyundai’s 2024 Sonata Hybrid is a model attracting attention domestically and abroad.
The previous model was often criticized for having a “catfish” on the front. Still, the 2024 model has gained popularity with a change in design to a sporty atmosphere and the seamless horizon lamp, which has become a part of Hyundai’s family look.
The model has a naturally aspirated inline 4-cylinder engine and can produce 195 horsepower.
In addition, the size of the internal cluster has been expanded from the existing 10.25 inches to a 12.3-inch touchscreen curved display. Moving the gear selector to the steering column boasts more storage space and cup holder space than the previous model.

2024 Kia K5 Hybrid
Offered in Three Trims
Kia’s 2024 K5 Hybrid is a model that is as popular as Hyundai’s Sonata.
The model is offered in three trims: Prestige, Noblesse, and Signature. The top-of-the-line Signature model features ambient lighting, memory seats, and comfort seat functions. The base Prestige trim offers a 12.3-inch display, an intelligent trunk, and ventilated and heated seats per standard specifications.
In the Noblesse trim, a new panoramic curved display and a surround-view function offer driving convenience. The 2024 K5 Hybrid is equipped with an HEV system combining a 2.0-liter engine producing 152 horsepower and a permanent magnet motor system producing 195 horsepower.

2024 Toyota Camry Hybrid
Full Digital Display for Upper Trims
Toyota’s 2024 Camry Hybrid comes standard with a dual-motor hybrid powertrain. The front-wheel-drive model is equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine and two electric motors that produce 225 horsepower, while the all-wheel-drive model adds a third motor that drives the rear axle, increasing the total output to 232 horsepower. A continuously variable automatic transmission is standard on both models.
The model boasts a spacious interior that offers ample seating space in both the front and rear seats. The dashboard design is highlighted by a large trim piece that extends from the passenger side to the infotainment display. All models come with a digital gauge display, and the upper trims, XLE and XSE, have a larger 12.3-inch full digital display.
