Zeekr Mix: The Electric Minivan Revolutionizing Interior Space

newautopost Views

Zeekr, China Geely’s premium electric vehicle brand, unveiled the electric minivan Zeekr Mix at the 2024 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. The expansion of the electric vehicle lineup has been announced through Zeekr 001, Zeekr 009, Zeekr X, Zeekr 007, and Zeekr Mix.

This Zeekr Mix is attracting attention for its futuristic design and boxy shape, which maximizes interior space. It is said to be attracting much attention at this year’s Beijing International Automotive Exhibition because of its efficiency through an electric powertrain.

Applied Latest Steering Technology

Zeekr Mix is the first model developed and produced based on Geely’s SEA-M platform. It is expected to be equipped with an 86 kWh lithium-ion battery developed through cooperation between China’s CATL and Geely. The Zeekr Mix has a length of 184.56 inches, a width of 78.54 inches, a height of 69.88 inches, and a wheelbase of 118.42 inches.

Thanks to the newly applied steering technology, turning within a small radius of less than 196.85 inches is possible despite the length of 184.56 inches. The interior features a more unique configuration. It is divided into two models: a 5-seater model in a 2+3 configuration and a 6-seater model in a 3+3 configuration. For the 6-seater model, the first-row center console was made foldable. It is commonly used as a storage space and armrest but can be unfolded into a seat when necessary.

Second Row with Leg Support

The first row, which can rotate 270 degrees, can be configured to face the second row. The second row is equipped with leg supports so customers can sit comfortably with their legs supported. In addition, a large panoramic sunroof and long glass windows on the sides were used to ensure a sense of openness in the interior. In the case of the driver’s seat, the traditional door opening and closing method was applied. However, in the case of the right rear seat, a sliding door system was used to increase convenience.

China’s space station inspired the exterior design. Round lines are applied, and the overall shape of the front part is similar to that of the Volkswagen ID—Buzz or Hyundai’s Staria. As an electric vehicle, a future-oriented design was applied. Zeekr’s latest design language, the Stargate LED light panel, has been applied horizontally across the front part.

Maximum Output of 416 Horsepower, Expected to Come in Two Versions

As for the side, it features a smooth shape as there is no door handle. A two-tone black high-gloss color is applied to the side panels and roof, making it a design reminiscent of a spaceship with transparent glass windows. In addition, 19-inch or 20-inch multi-spoke wheels, a camera mounted on the front fender, and LiDAR-based advanced driving assistance functions are provided.

The Zeekr Mix will be available in two versions with curb weights of 5,818 lbs and 6038 lbs. This is expected to be a difference due to the weight of the battery, and the battery capacity is expected to vary depending on the specifications. In the powertrain case, an electric motor with a maximum output of 416 horsepower and a maximum torque of 440 Nm is mounted on the rear wheels and drives the rear wheels.
