Top 3 Priceless Classic Cars Found in an American Junkyard

newautopost Views

Many people view junkyards as mere ruins, yet rare classic car models are occasionally discovered there. Once celebrated for their glory, these rare cars are now rusting away, worn out, and abandoned in deserted places.

In particular, among older classic cars found in junkyards, some are said to be sold at very high prices today. Let’s look at rare classic cars from the 1900s found in an American junkyard.

1960 Lincoln Premiere
Sold at a very high price

The 1960 Lincoln Premiere was a vehicle that could seat up to six people. It was sold in two-door and four-door hardtop specifications and a four-door sedan model. It had the advantage of selling a longer four-door sedan than luxury cars from competitors Cadillac, Imperial, and Packard, but limousine specification was not developed.

The 1960 Lincoln Premiere was equipped with a 7.0-liter MEL V8 engine and a 3-speed automatic transmission. Afterward, it was discontinued in 1961 when it was integrated into the 4th generation Lincoln Continental. Because it was very expensive then, sales volume was limited to about 4,200 units, making it an extremely rare model.

Ford 1942 Super Deluxe
Production was halted due to World War II

The 1942 Ford Super Deluxe featured Ford’s iconic electric shaver grille at the time and was equipped with a metal windshield visor. The beltline spear, rocker trim, and mid-fender accent spear were made of chrome, and the sleek lines defined the design trend of the early 1940s.

Unfortunately, this vehicle was produced for only four months, starting on February 10, 1942. This period was before the U.S. government ordered a halt to civilian automobile production in preparation for World War II. As a result, the 1942 Super Deluxe became the model with the lowest production volume since Ford was founded.

1966 Buick Electra
2-door convertible body type

Electra is a full-size luxury car manufactured and sold by Buick over six generations from 1959 to 1990. The vehicle left in the old garage was a 1966 Electra 225 with a two-door convertible body type.

It featured a plated square grille, round taillights, slanted headlights at the front, and a new style different from Buick’s other vehicles. In addition, it was equipped with a V8 engine capable of producing an output of approximately 314 horsepower and a torque of 59 kgf.m.
