Constant issues have plagued the Tesla Cybertruck. Despite gaining more attention for its striking design and performance than any other pickup truck released to date, it frequently faces controversies related to defects and safety concerns.

Recently, someone with a grudge against Tesla CEO Elon Musk carried out a graffiti attack targeting a Cybertruck, making it a hot topic. It is even more unfortunate that dozens of new cars were reported to have suffered damage ahead of customer delivery. We looked into what happened.

Damage reached 34 vehicles
The culprit hasn’t been caught yet

According to the report on June 21, dozens of new Cybertruck cars were recently plastered with graffiti in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, US. It was reported that among the more than 50 Cybertrucks at the scene, as many as 34 were damaged. In the case of each vehicle, the phrase Fu*k Elon is spray-painted on the body panels.

This shocking sight first spread through Instagram, and the identity of the culprit who committed the graffiti attack has not yet been secured. It was reported that the Cybertrucks, including the damaged vehicle, were stored in a public parking lot before being delivered to new owners.

Parking lot with poor security
Anyone could access it

The damaged vehicle had been stored at the location for about three days. It is known that the parking lot where the graffiti attack occurred was an environment that anyone could access, as there were no security facilities such as barriers or fences. This situation is unusual, as car dealerships maintain a dedicated parking lot for excess vehicles in preparation for situations where inventory becomes larger than usual.

Previously, Tesla suspended delivery of the Cybertruck model due to an issue with its wiper motor malfunctioning. There is an analysis that there was no suitable place to store the vehicles produced, so a place with insufficient security facilities was chosen as a matter of urgency. Meanwhile, interest is also focused on the story behind what happened to the cybertruck that suffered damage from the graffiti attack.

Fortunately, the car was restored to its original condition
Local police have launched an investigation

When the fact of the graffiti attack was made public, there were joking responses such as, “Shouldn’t it be sold at a premium as a limited edition?” However, fortunately, it is said that it was restored to its original condition. Since the Cybertruck’s stainless steel body has not gone through any painting process, it is said that it is not difficult to remove the spray paint from the surface.

Local police are tracking the suspect using nearby CCTV and the Cybertruck’s security system, Sentry Mode.
