Cadillac Escalade has long been celebrated for its commanding presence and luxurious design, making it a top choice for families and security needs. Known for its robust safety features and spacious interior, the Escalade symbolizes luxury and functionality. In line with the growing electrification trend, Cadillac recently introduced the Escalade IQ, an electric variant of this iconic SUV.

Adding to the excitement, a more extended version of the Escalade IQ dubbed the Escalade IQL, has been spotted. While its design closely mirrors the standard model, the IQL’s extended length—comparable to a bus—sets it apart. As anticipation builds, the key questions now are about its performance capabilities and the timeline for its official launch.

Equipped with LG Energy Solution batteries and exceptional performance

The Cadillac Escalade IQL, an extended version of the Escalade IQ, will feature GM’s innovative Ultium Platform. This platform includes a substantial 200 kWh battery from Ultium Cells, a joint venture with LG Energy Solution, ensuring reliability and efficiency.

While the IQL’s design remains largely similar to the standard IQ, notable changes exist. The increased length has led to modifications behind the C-pillar, and the quarter glass design has been updated accordingly.

Under the hood, the IQL will come standard with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. It supports ultra-fast charging with 800V capability. According to EPA standards, the Escalade IQ boasts a driving range of approximately 724 km (450 miles) per charge, but the extended length of the IQL may slightly reduce this range due to the added weight. The powertrain delivers a robust 760 horsepower.

GM’s longest SUV
Interior evolution is noticeable

The Escalade IQL is a 5,766 mm (227 inches). Its width is 2,167 mm (85.3 inches), its height is 1,934 mm (76.1 inches), and its wheelbase is 3,404 mm, making it the most extended SUV ever launched by GM. For reference, the Escalade IQ model is 5,697 mm (224.3 inches) in length and 3,070 mm (120.9 inches) in wheelbase, which are 69 mm (2.7 inches) and 334 mm (13.1 inches) longer, respectively, securing a more expansive interior space.

The interior will likely be identical to the Escalade IQ. The entire dashboard and the 11-inch auxiliary display will have the same 55-inch display. Despite its luxury, the previous Escalade felt somewhat rustic but gradually evolved into a futuristic element.

Long body offers unprecedented interior storage space

The Escalade IQ has a generous 3,426L cargo space, befitting a full SUV. The long-body version has an even larger 4,043 L of space—an overwhelming amount.

The long-body version is expected to be launched in the US in the second half of 2024 or the first half of 2025. The vehicle’s starting sticker price is $129,990, with the range-topping Sport 2 model starting at $150,490.
