What Are Its Advantages Over the Carnival?
Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the facelifted version of its V-Class minivan, now electrified as the EQV-Class. This new EQV represents both the second minivan model and the first electric vehicle in Mercedes-Benz’s EQ lineup. With the announcement of pricing and specifications, customer deliveries have commenced.
The updated EQV and V-Class models come with enhanced features. Notably, the MBUX infotainment system now includes wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a significant upgrade from the previous models.
Rich Convenience and Safety Features
What New Functions Have Been Added?
The safety and convenience features that will be installed as standard on the EQV are quite plentiful. In addition to seven airbags, it is equipped with many functions such as active parking assist, adaptive cruise control, autonomous emergency braking (AEB), blind spot alert, lane keeping assist, surround camera, and preemptive safety accident prevention function.
Many new features have also been applied to the entire V-Class lineup, not just the EQV. First, the previously introduced MBUX multimedia system, keyless start that allows you to start the vehicle without a key, smartphone wireless charger, high beam assist, and 3D surround view, among other advanced options, have been added.

Indoor space is overwhelming
The Mercedes-Benz EQV’s dimensions are 5,140 mm (202.4 inches) in length, 2,249 mm (88.5 inches) in width, 1,901 mm (74.8 inches) in height, and a wheelbase of 3,200 mm (126.0 inches). The spacious body size of a minivan provides ample space for multiple passengers to travel comfortably.
Compared to the Carnival, the EQV is larger overall. Its length and width are 15 mm (0.6 inches) and 24 mm (0.9 inches) longer, respectively, and its height is 94 mm (3.7 inches) higher, making it easier to get in and out of the vehicle. The wheelbase, which determines the interior space, is 110 mm (4.3 inches) longer, making the gap clear. Although it has the disadvantage of a larger turning radius, it has the advantages of a spacious interior and comfortable ride.
The starting price is about $167,723
Expensive, even considering EVs
The facelifted EQV is priced at approximately $167,723. Given its large size and the generally higher cost of electric vehicles than their internal combustion engine counterparts, many consider this price quite steep. Meanwhile, Mercedes-Benz plans to phase out the EQ brand and offer EV models as part of each lineup instead.
