Automakers are accelerating their electrification strategies with the European Union poised to implement the Euro 7 emissions regulations. This trend includes high-performance sports car brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini, which are adapting to the changing landscape.

Ferrari is gearing up to launch its first electric vehicle (EV) in 2025. While the model name and specific design details remain undisclosed, hints emerged after an early test mule was spotted in Maranello in June 2024, prompting speculation and early renderings.

Design Inspirations and Test Mule Insights

A rendering from Russian automotive media outlet Kolesa suggests Ferrari’s upcoming electric vehicle (EV) will draw design inspiration from the Purosangue. While Ferrari has yet to officially confirm the exact body style, the test mule hints at a crossover shape. The mule features a body similar to the Maserati Levante but incorporates LED headlights from the Ferrari Roma, signaling that the final production model may showcase a unique blend of design elements distinct from Ferrari’s EV lineup.

The released rendering showcases a vehicle that closely resembles the Purosangue yet is tailored for electric performance. Distinct horizontal daytime running lights are integrated between air intakes shaped like the Korean character ㄷ. While retaining similarities to the Purosangue, the design emphasizes aerodynamic efficiency, with flowing lines replacing the sharper angles typically seen in Ferrari’s lineup.

Distinctive Features and Styling Elements

The front of the vehicle features split headlights, while the rear boasts a sporty roof spoiler. The air intake in the bumper has been downsized, creating a differentiation from the Purosangue. This intake is adorned with a chrome garnish, while the bumper side showcases a body-matched garnish. The front lip extends forward, connecting seamlessly with high-gloss black cladding along the sides.

A gracefully contoured hood with a voluminous curve leads into a sleek side profile featuring flush door handles, horizontal window lines, rounded wheel arches, and a coupe-like roofline. The rear design includes a sloping glass section topped with a sporty spoiler, enhancing the aggressive aesthetic.

Pricing and Market Position

This new electric vehicle is predicted to retail at around $500,000 and be priced approximately $100,000 higher than the Ferrari Purosangue. However, specific details regarding the driving range and performance metrics related to the powertrain and battery capacity have yet to be revealed. As the launch date approaches in 2025, enthusiasts anticipate unveiling a prototype that will bring the design closer to its final form.

Ferrari’s commitment to electrification marks a significant step for the brand, merging its iconic performance pedigree with a forward-looking approach to sustainability.
