Nicolas Paris, procurement vice president at Renault Group (Screencaptured from his LinkedIn account)Renault Group has named Nicolas Paris as the next CEO of Renault Korea, the French automaker announced Monday. Paris, currently serving as vice president of e-powertrain, battery, connectivity and software at the company’s French headquarters, will take the helm of the Korean operations.

Paris is set to officially begin his tenure as CEO in Korea on September 1. Concurrently, Stephane Deblaise, the current CEO of Renault Korea, will transition to lead Renault India starting on the same date.

With a robust 20-year track record in the global automotive industry, Paris brings a wealth of experience to his new role. Prior to joining Renault Group in 2015, he held the position of corporate purchasing director for Bosch’s Asia-Pacific region. At Renault, Paris has navigated through various key positions, including leadership roles in purchasing for China and India. He also served as the alliance global director of APO platform and chassis for the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi partnership.

Since 2023, Paris has been instrumental in driving Renault Group’s technological innovation and spearheading its transition towards electric vehicles. In his current role, he oversees procurement for e-powertrain, battery, driver assistance connectivity, and software – all critical components in the automotive industry’s electric future.

Deblaise, who has led the Korean branch since March 2022, leaves a legacy of success, particularly with the launch of Renault Group’s Aurora project. This strategic initiative, part of the group’s international expansion plans, focused on manufacturing new vehicles at the automaker’s Busan plant. The project’s crowning achievement was the debut of the new Grand Koleos sport utility vehicle. Since its introduction in September 2024, the French brand has sold over 45,000 units of this SUV, underscoring the success of Deblaise’s tenure.
