Jungkook Breaks Records: BTS Star’s Solo Journey Reaches New Heights on Spotify
In a groundbreaking achievement, the World Music Awards reported on Monday that Jungkook has become the first Asian solo artist to exceed 100 million streams on every original track released through his Spotify account. This milestone covers 18 original songs out of the 47 tracks listed on his profile, excluding remixes. Renowned for honoring the world’s top-selling music artists, the World Music Awards highlighted this extraordinary feat.
Jungkook’s accomplishment places him among an elite group of global superstars. According to international music outlet Oneily Vibe, he joins pop icons Billie Eilish and Harry Styles as one of only three artists worldwide to achieve 100 million streams on every original solo track on Spotify.
Leading Jungkook’s impressive streaming numbers is his hit single “Seven,” which has amassed an astonishing 2.4 billion streams as of Monday. Hot on its heels are “Standing Next to You,” with 1.2 billion streams, and his collaboration with Charlie Puth, “Left and Right,” boasting over 1.1 billion streams.
“Seven” not only set records for the fastest accumulation of streams but also holds the record for the highest number of streams ever for a song by an Asian artist on Spotify—a platform that has been shaping the music industry since 2006.
The BTS vocalist’s solo career continues to soar. In 2023, Jungkook secured his place in the Guinness World Records as the fastest artist to reach 1 billion Spotify streams, achieving this milestone in just 409 days with only three solo tracks.
Further cementing his status as a global music powerhouse, Jungkook’s total Spotify streams have now surpassed 9.2 billion. This achievement not only makes him the fastest Asian act to reach this milestone but also crowns him as the first K-pop soloist to do so.
Having completed his mandatory military service on June 11, Jungkook is now gearing up for BTS’s highly anticipated full-group comeback. The group recently announced plans for a new album and world tour, targeted for a spring release next year, sending fans into a frenzy of excitement.
