Trump Hopes US Market Crashes During Biden’s Presidency Term

“U.S. economy in a very vulnerable state”
“I don’t want to end up like Hoover who experienced the Great Depression”

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has confessed his honest feelings about the U.S. economic crisis.

According to Bloomberg News on the 8th (local time), during an interview hosted by his supporter Mike Lindell, former President Trump said “Our economy is in a very vulnerable state,” and “If the economy collapses, I hope it happens within the next 12 months.”

Considering the U.S. presidential election is held in November, he implies that he would prefer if this happened during President Joe Biden’s term.

He added, “Because I don’t want to end up like Herbert Hoover.” Herbert Hoover was the 31st President of the United States, and the Great Depression occurred during his term. At that time, the U.S. economy fell into the worst situation with skyrocketing unemployment and Hoover failed to be reelected in 1932.

Last month, former President Trump also warned, “If I’m not reelected, an economic crisis triggered by a stock market crash like in 1929 when Hoover was in the White House will hit the U.S.”

The reason he frequently mentions the economic crisis recently is intertwined with growing public dissatisfaction with the Biden administration’s economic policies. According to a Bloomberg poll last month, voters in competitive states trust Trump’s economic policies 18% more than Biden’s. Moreover, economic issues are cited as a major complaint against President Biden in various polls.

However, despite this situation, Bloomberg pointed out that recent employment indicators remain strong and the unemployment rate remains low indicating that the U.S. economy is in a relatively good state.
