According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, South Korean Foreign Minister Cho Tae-yeol, U.S. Secretary of State Tony Blinken, and Japanese Foreign Minister Yoko Kamikawa held a trilateral foreign ministers' meeting in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on the sidelines of the major G20 foreign ministers' meeting at 1:15 p.m. for one hour. This will be the seventh trilateral foreign ministers' meeting since the inauguration of Yun Suk-yol's government, and the first since the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) ministerial meeting in November last year. They also agreed to further strengthen trilateral cooperation to block North Korea's nuclear and missile financing, including its illegal cyber activities, and cooperation to promote human rights in North Korea. Emphasizing that the military cooperation between Russia and North Korea poses a serious threat to international peace and stability beyond the Korean Peninsula, the three countries will continue to work together with the international community to strictly address it. The ministers strongly urged "North Korea to immediately cease its belligerent rhetoric and provocations and return to the path of denuclearization." As the three countries are serving as Security Council members together for the first time in 27 years this year, they decided to work more closely together to respond to various regional and global challenges, including North Korea...
