Thief vs. Tesla: Cybertruck’s Bulletproof Reputation Holds Strong

The most durable mass-produced vehicle
Tesla Cybertruck prevents intrusion by thief

The Tesla Cybertruck has been evaluated as the most durable model among mass-produced vehicles. Its ultra-high-hardness stainless steel body is even bulletproof, and it has surprised people by sustaining almost no damage in several recent crashes.

The windshield applied to the Cybertruck also boasts unprecedented rigidity among mass-produced vehicles. Tesla explains that when the prototype was unveiled in 2019, it was shown to be broken by a steel ball, but this has been improved in the mass-produced version. Not long ago, this claim was proven to be true.

A thief attempted to break into a vehicle
Every attempt fails and escapes

Arash Malek, a Tesla content creator active on social media X (formerly Twitter), posted a video taken by his Cybertruck Sentry Mode camera on March 26. A thief trying to break the window of a Cybertruck from multiple angles has been shown in the video.

According to the video, the thief appears to have taken a tool believed to be an emergency escape hammer and tried to break the side window of the Cybertruck. When the glass did not break despite several attempts, the thief climbed on top of the vehicle and started running wild, targeting the glass roof. Ultimately, after failing all attempts, the thief lost his will and left the scene.

A post that spread quickly
Elon Musk also paid attention

Looking at the photo posted by Arash Malek, it appears that the glass the thief was trying to break was cracked but not completely broken. The post quickly spread and became a hot topic.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk also checked out this. He shared the video and boasted that it was “the best defense technology in the world.” However, some people expressed concern about repair costs. The intrusion attempt was prevented, but the glass did not break on the first attempt, causing further damage, including cracks in other glasses.

Tesla Cybertruck Side Collision Test Vehicle

According to the industry, the Cybertruck’s side windows are around $200 to $260 each. But the problem is the glass roof. The exact price of the part is unknown, but considering that the windshield costs $1,900, it may be more expensive. In addition, since this is the unit price of parts excluding labor and taxes, the final estimate is expected to be significant.

In addition, as Tesla is focusing on the production of the Cybertruck, it is expected that it will not be easy to secure repair parts. Fortunately, even if the glass breaks, people can still drive for a while. If it were regular glass, it would have shattered and been difficult to drive until repaired.
