In recent times, many people are favoring SUVs. The advantage of an
SUV is that the driver’s seat is positioned high, offering a broad view and helping to understand road conditions better. Moreover, they offer similar interior space to large sedans, making them ideal for family trips or long-distance driving.

Hyundai Tucson and Kia Sportage: The two pillars of Korean compact SUVs

The Hyundai Tucson is an indispensable vehicle for Korean compact SUVs. The Tucson boasts a luxurious yet practical interior, making it an especially eye-catching SUV. The Tucson comes with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder powertrain and an 8-speed automatic transmission, with the option to choose between front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive models. The recently released new Tucson model comes with new safety features such as rear side airbags and steering wheel haptic feedback and can be purchased for a price ranging from 27.71 million KRW ($23,200) to 40.04 million KRW ($33,500).

The Kia Sportage and the Hyundai Tucson form the two pillars of Korean compact SUVs. It comes equipped with a 2.5-liter 4-cylinder engine that produces 187 horsepower. It’s reported to accelerate to 62 mph in 7.4 seconds, and the wheelbase has been lengthened compared to the previous generation, improving ride comfort. Furthermore, the 2024 model comes with airbags in the second-row seats and LED projector headlights as a standard feature for all Sportage models. The Sportage is available between 25.37 million KRW ($21,200) and 38.92 million KRW ($32,600).

Volvo XC40 with a luxurious interior and Mercedes-Benz GLA boasting a sleek exterior

The Volvo XC40 has been on the market since 2017 and boasts a spacious interior, comfortable ride, and luxurious interior. Previously, it offered options such as manual, diesel, all-wheel drive, and plug-in hybrid, but in 2024, it will only have front-wheel drive gasoline engine models and electric models (EX40). The price of this vehicle ranges from $41,200 to $45,400.

The Mercedes-Benz GLA is a compact SUV with a sleek exterior and a modern and sophisticated interior. Its turbocharged 4-cylinder engine produces 221 horsepower. If you choose the 4Matic, you can get an off-road engineering package that offers off-road driving modes as a standard feature. In addition, the 2024 model of the GLA comes with a hybrid assist system, allowing the engine to operate more efficiently than previous models. The GLA is sold at about $56,800.

Audi Q3 with trademark design and BMW X1 with modern design

The Audi Q3, one of the more affordable models in the Audi lineup, reflects Audi’s trademark design throughout its entire lineup. The 2024 model of the Q3 comes standard with an adaptive cruise control feature and a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine. The Q3 40 can produce 184 horsepower and 30kgf.m of torque, while the Q3 45 can produce 228 horsepower and 35kg.m of torque. The Q3 is sold at a price ranging from $45,400 to $50,100.

The BMW X1 is a compact SUV that comes equipped with a modern design and high-tech features such as BMW’s latest iDrive 9 infotainment system, curved glass display, wireless Apple Inc. CarPlay and Android Auto. If you choose the M35i xDrive model, you can get a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine with 312 horsepower, an adaptive suspension system, and high-performance brakes. The X1 can be purchased at a price ranging from $48,700 to $63,400.
