BLACKPINK’s Lisa Signs with RCA Records: A New Era for the Global Star

Sony Music Entertainment Korea

BLACKPINK’s Lisa is emerging as a global artist after partnering with RCA Records.

On April 11, Sony Music Entertainment Korea announced that Lisa and her newly established agency, LLOUD Company, have entered into a new partnership with RCA Records, a Sony Music subsidiary in the U.S.

Lisa, who is preparing to release a new solo album with RCA Records, expressed her excitement, saying, “I am thrilled to join the RCA family. I am confident that they are the best team to make bigger moves in my solo career,” and “I look forward to showing the world everything we have prepared.”

Peter Edge, Chairman and CEO of RCA Records, and COO John Fleckenstein also expressed their pride in the new partnership with Lisa and LLOUD Company, stating, “Lisa is an undeniable global star with multi-dimensional talents. Welcoming Lisa and LLOUD Company to the RCA Records family is a great joy.”

By partnering with RCA Records, Lisa now stands shoulder to shoulder with world-renowned artists such as A$AP Rocky, Becky G, Doja Cat, Foo Fighters, and Justin Timberlake. As a label member, Lisa plans to expand her influence globally.

As a member of BLACKPINK, Lisa has been actively making waves worldwide. Earlier this year, she established LLOUD Company, promising to present her unique vision in the entertainment industry. With the announcement of her partnership with RCA Records, there is anticipation that Lisa will usher in a new era as an artist and entrepreneur.

Beyond her work with BLACKPINK, Lisa has carved a successful path as a soloist. In 2021, her solo debut album, Lalisa, achieved impressive sales in South Korea, becoming the first release by a female artist to sell approximately 750,000 copies in its first week. The album’s title track, “Lalisa,” along with another song, “Money,” both reached the top 10 of the Billboard Global 200 chart in the U.S. Notably, “Money” made history by becoming the longest-charting song by a K-pop female solo artist on both the Billboard Hot 100 and the U.K. Singles Chart.

As of 2023, Lisa holds the record for the most Instagram followers among K-pop artists, boasting over 120 million. She has also made history by becoming the first K-pop soloist to win both the MTV Video Music Awards and the MTV Europe Music Awards. Expanding beyond music, Lisa is slated to make her acting debut in season 3 of the HBO original series The White Lotus.

Lisa’s personal life has also garnered media attention, with rumors circulating about a potential relationship with Frédéric Arnault, son of the chairman of LVMH. The pair have been seen together several times, but neither has publicly confirmed or denied the rumors.
