A man in his 40s reportedly underwent 12 penis enlargement surgeries due to a doctor’s mistake.

According to recent reports from Italian media, a 40-year-old Italian man sued a doctor and two hospitals after the penis enlargement procedures resulted in erectile dysfunction.

The anonymous man paid $5,400 to a plastic surgeon for the penis enlargement surgeries.

However, he began experiencing physical discomfort about a month after the surgery. Unfortunately, this was just the beginning of a painful journey that saw him undergoing a total of 12 procedures to correct the initial botched surgery.

According to court documents, the man underwent fat transfer surgeries twice.

The procedure involves moving fat from various parts of the body to the penis to adjust its shape. Regrettably, the man’s genitals failed to maintain the expected shape and volume; thus, he did not achieve the desired effect.

In an attempt to repair the damage to his penis, he underwent several different procedures, but these only worsened the situation.

The man eventually filed a lawsuit, and the defendant doctor defended himself in court by arguing, “The patient was satisfied with the initial surgery results and signed a consent form beforehand.”

However, the Pistoia court dismissed his claim, stating, “The patient was unaware of the physical risks he was facing.”

The court added, “The patient’s satisfaction with the aesthetic results of the surgery is irrelevant. It is medical professionals’ job to evaluate the procedure’s success.”

The two clinics involved in the case tried to evade responsibility by claiming they only ‘rented’ their facilities to the doctor. However, the judge ruled they benefited from the doctor’s work and shared responsibility.

Ultimately, the judge ordered the doctor to pay 60% of the compensation and the clinics to pay 20% each.
